I’m not sure a Porsche laptop bag makes your laptop go any faster, but hey you can buy one if you want one:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Over the years I’ve seen some pretty stupid (and cheaply made — always) watches, coffee travel mugs, golf shit, etc, plastered with a BMW or Ferrari logo on it and I always wonder who buys this stuff. Then I began to wonder what the worst cross-branded product is/was of all time.
I have found it, thanks to a local comedian who mentioned Hummer Cologne, which she says “smells like a bald man’s tiny penis” which had me fall out of my chair laughing. (I wish I knew her name; sorry, this was years ago.) I thought it was just part of her routine. There’s no way something like that would exist, right? Oh, but it does!
What’s the worst car-branded non car product you’ve seen?

There is nothing worse than BMW glasses. The perfect look for the punchable face.

No offense meant to the Hummer fans out there BTW. I tolerate all the photos of horrible BMW parking, so...

I’m not sure which I find worse: that those are made or that they vaguely resemble my old glasses :/

I am not sure if it is the worst, but it caught me completely off guard.
I was moving to Maryland (a terrible place) and my mom got me a housewarming gift of a Merc Benz Iron for my suits that can steam clean while on the hanger. Mercedes makes a damn clothing iron?!

Thing is, all those non-car things that Porsche Design Group do really don’t have a whole lot (if anything, often times) to do with Porsche Automotive Group, because it was intended to be a separate business. Butzi Porsche (Ferry’s son, Piech’s grandson) essentially didn’t want to spend all his energy on car design after he penned the first 911 (and the Porsche family no longer wanted Porsches running Porsche), so he split PDG off in ‘74 as a completely separate business venture to design other things...mostly watches and pens for a while. Butzi Porsche was still the lead designer, and it was pretty much his company, so he kept the name on the design house, despite no longer contributing to PAG.
Twenty years later, PAG re-aquired PDG, and while PDG does do some of the merchandisy thingees for PAG since then, the stuff like watches, bracelets, and pens are all still meant to be beautifully, form-driven design pieces that have no relation to their automotive relations.
